The best protection against fraud is asking plenty of questions and trusting your instincts.
Be wary of any of the following:
If somebody asks to be paid in Gift Cards.
If somebody asks to be paid for a service in a large cash-only transactions.
If you are being coached to say something specifically by a third party before completing a transaction.
If the transaction seems odd in any way.
If any of these happen, ask lots of questions. If you aren’t sure if a transaction seems legitimate, ask a trusted source for a second opinion. Protect yourself and your hard-earned cash.

Connections Credit Union has partnered with IDSafeChoice, to bring you the most comprehensive Identity Fraud Research, Remediation, and Recovery Services available. If you become a victim of Identity Theft, you will be assigned a licensed and certified Recovery Advocate to complete the recovery work on our behalf, report on progress along the way, and be there for you until your good name has been restored.
All Connections Credit Union checking accounts are automatically enrolled in this service at account sign-up*. A fee of $1.25 per month is deducted from your account. This provides service to you and your family.
Benefits of Identity Theft Protection from IDSafeChoice:
Assistance in placing fraud alerts at the three major credit bureaus.
Review all three credit reports to identify the extent of fraudulent activity.
Support local and federal law enforcement as they work to stop criminals from using your identity.
Follow up with you for 12 months to make sure no other problems surface.
Provide 12 months of credit monitoring at no charge.
Includes coverage for you and your family including spouse, dependents under the age of 25 with the same permanent address, IRS-qualified dependents, and your parents living with you or in elder care.
