History

Connections Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative serving Southern Idaho. Initially serving the telephone company in the Pocatello and Boise areas, Connections' history can be traced back to filling the deposit and loan needs of telephone company employees and their families.

In 1975, Connections expanded into Idaho Falls. In 1982, Graphic and Allied Arts Credit Union and United Medical Credit Union merged with Connections to help expand our field of membership. A decade later, IBEW Local #449 Credit Union merged with Connections. With our growing membership, Connections opened a branch in Firth, Idaho, in 2004 and the Olympus branch in Pocatello in 2008. Inkom Cement Employees Credit Union merged with Connections in 2009 to include the community of Inkom.

With the addition of Idaho Advantage Credit Union in June 2013, Connections added branches in Boise and Nampa, Idaho.

In August of 2013, Simcoe Credit Union joined Connections and increased our presence in Minidoka and Cassia counties.

Magic Valley FCU joined the Connections family in March 2014. With the addition of Magic Valley FCU, Connections is now able to offer our personal service to Twin Falls and the surrounding area.

In 2022, Connections received its Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) designation. Our status as a CDFI is an official recognition of the United States Department of Treasury. Thanks to our CDFI certification, we are a specialized financial institution serving low-income communities.

Today, Connections is recognized for its outstanding member service, community-focused approach, and traditional credit union values. We are here for our members; weproudly allow membership to most residents of Ada, Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Bonneville, Canyon, Caribou, Cassia, Franklin, Jefferson, Jerome, Lincoln, Minidoka, Oneida, Power and Twin Falls counties.
